Caspar Henderson is the author of The Book of Barely Imagined Beings: A 21st Century Bestiary which was shortlisted for the 2013 Royal Society Winton Prize for Science books and for which he received the Author’s Foundation Roger Deakin Award 2009 and The Royal Society of Literature Jerwood Award for Non Fiction 2009.
His latest book, A New Map of Wonders: A Journey in Search of Marvels was published by Granta in 2017 to wide acclaim.
He has been a journalist and editor with various publications and broadcasters. He is a past recipient of an IUCN-Reuters award for best environmental reporting in Western Europe. And he has worked as a consultant and advisor with leading voluntary organisations, government and international agencies. He co-authored Our Fragile Earth (New Internationalist, 2005) and was the commissioning editor for Debating Globalization (Polity, 2005).
