Mark Lynas is an authority and has written extensively in the press on environmental issues. His first book, High Tide: News from a Warming World, does for the subject of global climate change what Naomi Klein’s No Logo does for the world of major corporations. High Tide was longlisted for both the Guardian First Book Award 2004 and The Samuel Johnson Prize 2004.
His second book, Six Degrees which, degree by degree, explores the consequences of a rise in the global temperature and proposes how we might avert catastrophe, was published to huge acclaim in 2007. Six Degress won the Royal Society Science Book Prize 2008 and was also longlisted for the Orwell Prize. His most recent book, The God Species: How the Planet can Survive the Age of Humans, was published in 2011.
