Michael Bracewell

Michael Bracewell is the author of several works of fiction and non-fiction. His writing has been published in The Faber Book of Pop and a selection of his writings on art and culture, The Space Between was published in 2022. He has written widely on modern and contemporary art, most notably about the work of Bridget Riley and Richard Hamilton on the occasion of recent exhibitions of their work at The National Gallery, London. Also on the art of Damien Hirst and Gilbert & George for the Tate Gallery, London.

His works of non-fiction include England is Mine: Pop Life in Albion from Wilde to Goldie, a study of pop culture in England in the 20th Century; a collection of essays, The Nineties: When Surface Was Depth; and, with the cooperation of Bryan Ferry and Brian Eno, Re-make/Re-model: Art, Pop, Fashion and the Making of Roxy Music.

His works of fiction include Divine Concepts of Physical BeautyPerfect Tense; Souvenir; and most recently Unfinished Business, published by White Rabbit in 2023.
